Our membership to Produce Alliance gives Lombardo Produce an amazing competitive edge in the areas of attaining and procuring of product, transportation resources, educational and informational material, and other real value produce solutions.

Produce Alliance has 33 independent high-profile fresh produce distributors with over 40 facilities covering 38 states. Every member company is carefully selected after meeting stringent qualifying standards and represents the fresh produce specialists in each market they service. Headquartered in Nashville, Produce Alliance has procurement offices in Atlanta, Salinas, and Chicago, staffed by seasoned veterans who purchase millions of cases of fresh produce annually.

DEDICATION TO SERVICE

Our customer service department is staffed with trained customer service representatives and a supervisor. "Live" customer service can be attained Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday from 6:00am to 12:00pm and Sunday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Our staff is knowledgeable on our product, product pack sizes, and will make sure that your order is taken care of. They can assist our clients in attaining any information that they might need and maintain continuous communication with our warehouse and drivers.

Lombardo Produce provides our customers with a personal team within our organization. Each account is assigned a sales representative that can serve as a point of contact and reference. They provide face-to-face customer service and learn your business so that we can best understand how to cater to your needs. This representative will provide you with an action plan at the 'start up' meeting prior to becoming a customer.

As a customer you will also be assigned a driver, customer service representative, and order puller. Having these different categories of personnel assigned to your account allows for our service to customized, consistent, and more personalized to your needs.

We also believe in keeping our customers informed. We generate customized order guides based on customer specifications and provide weekly market trends, and in season reports. In addition, our website, www.lombardoproduce.com, carries a plethora of useful information. Our customers know that we are willing to "go the extra mile".

We offer deliveries six days a week and will cater to your delivery window. All orders are quality and accuracy checked prior to being loaded on a truck to ensure that you receive the product that you want, in the quality and quantity that you need on the first delivery.

In addition to live customer service and a dedicated account representative, Lombardo Produce can accept orders by phone, fax or online. The online ordering capability allows for our clients to submit their order online through a customized order guide at anytime that they wish and give them confidence that their order was communicated.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality control begins when a product shipment is received. The Receiving Manager immediately checks all incoming shipments for quality, temperature and tampering. Unsatisfactory product is not accepted. Lombardo Produce offers a complete cold chain from receiving to shipping, including delivery. The Inventory Control Manager also walks through all coolers to ensure proper product rotation.

Along with the above procedures, additional facility conditions and practices are in place to ensure the quality and integrity of our product.

Our facility houses four free standing coolers, with a total capacity of twenty tractor trailers of refrigerated product. Each cooler is kept at a specific temperature range to accommodate the specific quality requirements for the product lines that will be stored in each. The temperature in the coolers is monitored five times daily. Furthermore, we can accommodate ten tractor trailers of dry storage, freezer capacity of one tractor trailer and have an atmosphere controlled fruit ripening room. We rotate our inventory on the FIFO (First In First Out) basis, resulting in more than 140 inventory turns annually.

The Receiving Manager is responsible for daily inspections including random product checks. The Warehouse Manager also inspects all orders before they are loaded for transport. This inspection includes review of package count accuracy and a review of product quality. The entire inventory is counted on a daily basis. Slot location, product descriptions, lot numbers and date tags identify inventory.

Order Selectors are trained to inspect product for quality as it is being selected. Lombardo Produce strictly adheres to the Federal Guidelines for Quality Specifications. Lombardo Produce is the receipt of a "Superior" grade on our AIB Food and Safety Audit report as well as an "A" grade from the Clark County Health Department. We have a full HACCP program in place.

With our many years of industry experience, Lombardo Produce picks the premium growers, processors and shippers to fulfill our produce needs. Produce Alliance verifies that all growers and shippers maintain up to date licensing and procedures within USDA guidelines and communicate any deviations from that. We carry the premium labels including Driscoll, D'Arrigo, Idaho Potato, and Sunkist to name a few. These labels will provide the highest quality product to fulfill the desires of the most demanding customers.

GREEN INITIATIVE

Lombardo Produce cares about the environment and how we leave the planet for generations to come. In the spirit of being eco-friendly, Lombardo Produce has put into place some practices to do our part. We recycle all of our cardboard, copy paper, and printer cartridges. Our facility is designed to promote energy efficiency and power conservation. In addition, we use eco-friendly cleaning products.
